DEEWR

The Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR) is the Federal Government agency providing national leadership in education and workplace training, transition to work, and conditions and values in the workplace.

It oversees all education sectors, from early childhood education and primary and secondary schooling, through to university and the vocational education and training (VET) sector.

The Flexible Learning Advisory Group (FLAG) provides advice to DEEWR on matters relating to e-learning in the VET sector. A senior DEEWR nominee is a representative on FLAG.

The Department provides $15 million annually to support the implementation of the Australian Flexible Learning Framework strategy for the VET sector. Through the Innovation and Leadership programs, the strategy defines the vision, goals, strategies and outcomes for e-learning nationally, which are implemented through a national collaborative model by (FLAG).
