TVET Australia
The FLAG Secretariat is located at TVET Australia. TVET Australia Ltd is a company owned by the members of the Ministerial Council for Tertiary Education and Employment (MCTEE). The Company is governed by a Board of eight Directors comprising nominees from the Commonwealth, State and Territory Ministers. The Directors have the power to appoint up to two additional Directors with specific expertise which the Company may require.
TVET Australia’s responsibilities also include the provision of secretariat support services to the following other key decision making bodies of the national training system:
• National Quality Council (NQC)
• National Industry Skills Committee (NISC)
• National VET Equity Advisory Council (NVEAC).
TVET Australia is also responsible for providing the national training system with access to a range of catalogues listing quality teaching, learning and assessment resources, including nationally endorsed training packages. Through its TVET Product Services arm, TVET Australia also offers a centralised point of reference for Commonwealth and State-owned training resources, together with a comprehensive selection of materials from private publishers.
Finally, TVET Australia has responsibility for the National Audit and Registration Agency (NARA) which manages the audit and registration of multi-jurisdictional training organisations under delegation from States and Territories.
